Categories // Business, General, Hobbies & Leisure, Community, All Blog Items

Have you ever wanted to be a charity trustee?  At the moment, getting involved actively in something that you care about can be uplifting and give a real sense of purpose, and there just happens to be a wonderful opportunity for the right person.

Creswell Crags Museum and Prehistoric Gorge in North Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire is looking for five new trustees over the next couple of months, as part of its exciting future plans to grow and improve.

The Creswell Crags site is a local gem, home to an extraordinary part of Ice Age history in the UK, and some of the world’s oldest cave art.  Set in beautiful surroundings with a museum and heritage centre, Creswell Crags really is an important part of local and international heritage.

The charity running the site, Creswell Heritage Trust, is looking for five new trustees over the next couple of months, as part of its exciting future plans to grow and improve.

New trustees will need professional skills in areas including the law, finance, marketing, human resources and business strategy.  You don’t need to have been on a charity board before, just a willingness to learn new things.

The Trust wants to encourage people from all backgrounds and perspectives to apply, to make their new board as strong and resilient as possible.  No-one would pretend being a charity trustee is easy.  The paperwork can be significant and trustees are often faced with difficult business decisions.  Trustees also have some legal liabilities that they need to understand fully before signing up.  But if you like to challenge yourself, and feel that you have the right level of professional skills and experience, then this might just be the opportunity you’ve been looking for.
