How do you fancy a ride on a Steam Train?
The ‘There and Back’ Light Railway arrives at Thoresby Park’s Woodland Fairy Trail on specific dates and every day during Half Term you can join in the magic and explore mystical pathways and magical woodland, discovering all the woodland creatures.
An exciting Ice Age Journeys Archaeology Roadshow is making an appearance at Creswell Crags on Saturday 15th February where you’ll have the chance to see a range of ancient artefacts and, if you’re lucky enough to have ever found one, you can even bring you own prehistoric artefact and get and expert to tell you about it!
Whilst you’re there, why not take one of the fascinating cave tours which are held throughout the day or
follow the Crags’ ‘Hundred Hearts Trail’ and see if you can find all 100 hearts!
It’s Superhero time at Robin Hoods Wheelgate Park, Mansfield and if you go dressed as a superhero you can claim a Free ticket to their sister Park, Twinlakes Park! Frozen fans will love meeting the Frozen Princesses, Kristoff and his reindeer along with songs, dance and magical fun at White Post Farm.
There’s always something exciting to do at Sherwood Forest and this February you can join Robin Hood and Lady Marian as they re-tell tales of old and take you on a walk to Robin’s famous tree, the Major Oak.
If you like to be hands on, then you’ll love Sherwood Forest’s Nest Box Building day where you can build your very own nest box to take home.
It’s Fishy February at Bassetlaw Museum! Come and join in the fun and help create a masterpiece to change the walls into an under-sea themed spectacular! Why not make one to take and make one to leave?...
For young gardeners there's a free horticulture-themed activity trail at Dukeries Garden Centre which should go down a treat and young bakers will love the Cupcake Baking Workshop at The Chocolate Orange Tearooms!
For something even more active, there are special daily Fun Swims at both Retford and Worksop Leisure Centres during the break.
If your little ones like to be entertained they will love Andy & Lewis’ Magical Mayhem Show at The Acorn Theatre, Worksop or, if a fairytale is more to their liking, the special puppet show ‘Rumpelstiltskin’ at the Palace Theatre in Newark will certainly appeal.
