As every Christmas, there will be some changes to the dustbin collection services by our local Councils over the Christmas holiday.

November 5^th this year falls on a Sunday and, happily, our local bonfires and fireworks displays are spread out over 6 days so there’s something to enjoy from Thursday 2^nd all the way through to Tuesday 7^th November.

North Notts BID results are in - and it's a YES!

The North Notts Business Improvement District (BID) team have just learnt that the North Notts BID has been voted to go ahead by Bassetlaw businesses.   This will mean a huge investment to improve Bassetlaw over the next 5 years of over £3 million pounds.

There's great excitement in North Notts since it was announced that The Tour of Britain cycle race will be running a whole stage in Nottinghamshire on Weds 6th September!

And the news gets even better!  Not just through Nottinghamshire but 120 of the world’s top cyclists will be racing 175 km mainly in North Notts!

Easter Egg Hunts certainly are popular in North Notts this Easter and you’re really spoilt for choice. In fact there so many that you could easily end up with a chocolate overload!

If you’re looking for a lovely family day out most of the hunts are combined with other family and children’s activities.

This year Bonfire Night happily falls on a Saturday which makes it the perfect evening for going out and enjoying ourselves at one of the many Bonfire and Firework events in North Nottinghamshire.  That said, look out for a few events on Thursday, Friday & Sunday too.

As well as huge bonfires, spectacular firework displays and great food, many events also provide live music and great entertainment for all the family.

Look out for a brand new, inclusive, children's community choir starting in Retford this April.

The North Notts Makaton Choir is open to all children from ages 5 to 16, with the aim of enhancing community cohesion.

So, what is there to do in North Nottinghamshire during a generally fine and dry weekend at the end of February? Lots!

Whether you like to spend your time outdoors or in, there’s a great variety of things to do this weekend in the Retford and Worksop region.

If you run a business in North Nottinghamshire you need to know about the plans to launch a Business Improvement District (BID) in North Nottinghamshire.  The purpose of the BID is to help local business prosperity, to drive inward investment and to enable our region to compete nationally.

You’re going to hear lots more about this subject over the coming months and all businesses are being urged to support the plans.
